Custom Project - prior to June 2017
When the company I work for moved to a new office, I gained an office roommate. I suggested to her I'd like to build something Lego to personalize our space a little, and asked what kinds of things she would like to look at. She suggested a small park. Or a pond. Or maybe a zen garden. So I used elements of all three.I took the bridge off of my Temple of Airjitzu (set 70751) and used one of the new transparent blue 10"x10" bases I'd just gotten to give me a water-like base. I made one end of the bridge come out on a small sandy zen garden (complete with bonsai tree), and the other onto a lush mix of green plates and all kinds of grasses and flower. In the far corner I added a tree stump and some mushrooms.
Then I populated the park with a few swimming ducks and a curious turtle and frog. Once it came to work, my office-mate suggested a gnome would be just the thing, and since I'd wanted to get a gnome minifigure anyway, this was a great excuse. I put him on the bridge with a fishing pole, and a few days later brought him a fish, too!
-----UPDATE: The coworker for whom I built the park is retiring, so I built a micro-version for her to take home and keep.
Obviously it wouldn't have the same level of detail, but she'll know that mushroom-cap represents the stump with mushrooms around it, and the yellow angle represents a duck, and the grass bit represents the bonsai tree in the zen garden.
