Jack and the Beanstalk

Jack and the Beanstalk

Custom Project - Jan 2020

This one's a modification of a regular build, and it's pleased me quite a bit.

It started when I got a new Wonder Woman set. We'll grab pretty much anything Wonder Woman, and this one just was more exciting to us than the regular movie tie-in for Wonder Woman 1984 (below), which has Cheetah with a different look. I wouldn't mind having the golden armor, but the Cheetah in that set just looks weird, and honestly I don't want it.

So when we saw the exclusive set (left) with the much better Cheetah, and a Wonder Woman figure I didn't already have, of course we had to grab it. (Set is 77906)

This one was intended to be a San Diego Comic Con exclusive, but I was able to get it through Walmart. Of course, we built it as the instructions said, but the whole time, I just kept thinking that it looked like a mountain-side with clouds, and it was a little bit of a weird design for these figures.

But you know what figures it would work well for? A Jack and the Beanstalk build! And as it happens, I already have two sets of Lego 21315, the Ideas Pop-Up Book. So I have one built as Jack & the Beanstalk, and other built as Little Red Riding Hood. Which means I have an extra Jack and an extra giant.

Here's the book set with the Jack and the Beanstalk build in place. It's very clever, and the beanstalk 'grows' as you open the book.

So I took the figures and the Wonder Woman sign off the Comic Con build, and then added a few clips to hold a 'beanstalk' on there - a long flexible plant piece I had. Of course, once I got the stalk on there, I needed a little castle at the top. The castle also hides the top of the stalk. I tried to make the castle similar to the one in the book.

Then I adjusted the ground just a little bit to remove the Wonder Woman sign. I might try to add a tiny house down there later. But that now gives me a Jack and the Beanstalk build with a cool Jack and a Giant.
